Joseph Czikk the author of the article “TheAppLabb built itself from the ground up” & Managing Editor at BetaKit took the time to understand the story behind TheAppLabb today.

“TheAppLabb founder Kundan Joshi started his Toronto-based app development firm while he was still finishing his software engineering degree. Then the company was known as “Joshi Inc.”, while today TheAppLabb stands strong with a total of over 50 team members, having created apps for clients like Rogers, Bell Media, Gluten Free Expo and the Banff World Media Festival, among others.”

Talking about Tech startups, can a startup actually afford TheAppLabb’s prices? We didn’t talk specifics, but Joshi said the answer is yes. “They can actually, and that’s the unique model that we have. While we pride ourselves on the kind of quality and proficiency in the app experience, we do have very affordable prices and various approaches when it comes to tech startups.”

The Gluten Free Expo App got featured at ContractIQ

We are thrilled to share that “The Gluten Free Expo” App (created by TheAppLabb using TheEventsApp platform) was featured on ContractIQ website. You can visit them at contractiq.com to learn more.

ContractIQ is the showcase for top mobile app developers that build interesting apps and tools.

The Gluten Free Expo app enabled the event attendees to view event schedule, list of exhibitors and supporters of the Expo. Users could also obtain e-Coupons via the app to use at booths at the expo. The app also featured a detailed floor map of the expo and users could buy tickets to the expo from the app.

The app features social media integration with Facebook and Twitter and users could invite their friends to the event. Users can also subscribe to the Gluten Free Expo newsletter to receive updates through e-mail. Included within the app is a recipe guide as well as a product guide which feature gluten free products.

TheAppLabb team participated as an exhibitor & sponsor at the CIX – Canadian Innovation Exchange, that took place on Nov 21, 2013 at the MaRs Discovery District.

CIX attracts the people behind innovative new technologies “entrepreneurs, investors, corporations, service providers, government, and media” for programs of visionary keynotes and panel discussions, facilitated networking opportunities, and the CIX Top 20 a showcase of Canada’s hottest innovative companies working in Digital Media and Information and Communication Technology.

TheAppLabb received a warm and enthusiastic reception from the attendees as well as the organizers. The energy & vibe at the event was unparalleled. The event featured informative keynote speakers, a peek into Canada’s most innovative companies, industry influencers sharing case studies and best practices, a platform for Innovative Entrepreneurs to share experiences and conversations leading to meaningful collaborations. Every year, this is the CIX atmosphere: to share, trade, exchange, inspire & connect companies to accelerate growth.

The Gluten-Free Expo is Canada’s largest gluten free event. Toronto’s Expo was a two day event (Sept. 14 & 15 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre) with 100′s of gluten free products being sampled and sold, with leading experts presenting live on stage.

TheAppLabb is excited and feels proud in supporting Together For A Cause Trans Canada Cycling (#togetherforacause) which is sponsored by PGA International in support of the Sick Kids Foundation.

The cycling expedition will initiate from Vancouver, BC to St. John’s, Newfoundland, a distance of about 7500km (4630 miles) for Joachim’s world record breaking attempt. Multiple Guinness World Record holder, film actor and producer Suresh Joachim has broken over 60 world records. He has captured the public’s attention by breaking world records in many categories. He currently holds more than 20 records, including The World Fastest Movie from script to screening in 11 days, 23 hours and 45 minutes.
