Apple Inc to raise iPhone and iPad app prices – Check our CEO’s interview

Apple Inc. will be raising the price of the cheapest apps available in its Canadian App store, according to an email sent to software developers last week. CEO of our app development company, Kundan Joshi was interviewed by The National Post about this topic, where he shared his insights on how this change might affect in-app purchases and the overall experience.

Developers take the wait times, consistent guideline changes and this week’s price adjustment in stride, because Apple users are more eager to part with their money. “Most paid apps make more money on Apple than [on] Android so it’s sort of a trade-off that most developers are willing to do,” Mr. Joshi said.

App store sales rose 50% in 2014, and developers earned over US$10 billion from app sales over the course of the year, Apple said Thursday.
